I traveled from the low coast of Ecuador to the high mountains. This trip was about 126 miles long or, 202 kilometers. Since I was traveling into the mountains, the bus ride was about 3 hours long.
I have traveled over 625 miles to different cities in Ecuador so far. This is also a little over 1,000 kilometers, which is the main measurement used for distance in Ecuador. The cities I have gone to are Cuenca, Quito, Puerto Lopez, Bucay and Samborondón.
This week, I traveled everywhere in Cuenca on foot. I also used a bus to travel to Cuenca and back home to Guayaquil. In Cuenca, every thing you need is about a street or two streets away. I was comfortable with a good pair of walking shoes. If I needed to go a longer distance, I would always walk along the street to find a taxi driver.
