Elisa is one of the scientists in our lab. She's one of the project leaders for our group, so she is in charge of graduate students. She is from Bad Salzuflen, in the state of North Rhine Westphalia in Germany. Bad Salzuflen is a small city (~50,000 inhabitants) in the middle of nowhere. Bad means "bath," Salz means "salt," and Uflen comes from the Old High German language word Uflon, which means "the woods/forest;" therefore, the town's name means "The salt baths in the woods." The countryside is very green and slightly hilly.

I live now in Göttingen in a flat we bought half a year ago. The flat is 96 square meters, located on the first floor, and we have a little garden. We bought it because it’s very new (2018) and energy efficient.
I live with my partner, a cat (Kleene) and a dog (Oscar).
When the weather is good, I cycle to work with my E-Bike. Otherwise, I use my E-car.
