A lot of people here don't have a lot of money, so it can be challenging to live in this type of environment, especially in the cold winter. In my town, most people don't have cars, so it is hard to get around, especially when it is very cold outside. People often give each other rides even if they don't know them. Ukrainians usually know to trust and depend on each other.
People have been planting and harvesting a lot more lately. A common house will have potatoes, onions, cabbage and an apple tree planted in their backyards if there is room. In America, gardening is viewed as a hobby, but in Ukraine, people depend on it to save money at the grocery store and have enough food for the whole year.
