The land of Ukraine looks a lot like their flag with blue skies and fields of yellow wheat. Ukraine is known for producing its fields of wheat and sunflowers and depends on its production to make money. Almost everyone who has a backyard or some land farms grows vegetables or gardens. Some even sell what they grow at the market every week. Ukrainian people care very much about their land.
This environment is different because Ukraine has a lot of different landscapes like mountains, beaches and rivers. In the winter, the whole landscape dies, goes gray and looks very dreary. But this does not discourage Ukrainians. Even people in the cities will start planting fruits and vegetables the minute that they can. Ukrainians are very proud of their vast fields of wheat and blue summer skies.
I think that the sense of community here really helps people live here. A lot of people may not have certain things, so it is common to borrow things from your neighbors and depend on each other. Especially in the warmer months, you will find everyone outside gardening, sharing tools, swapping meals and helping each other. It is really special to see.
