Most of these protests are peaceful demonstrations where people rally together and voice their desire for independence. It is interesting to watch this situation unfold while I am studying abroad, and is a reminder that not all places in the world have the same freedoms that we do in the United States. I hope that a solution to this problem is found soon so that both sides are content.
Outside of this, there is a lot to experience in Hong Kong, both in the city and in the quieter parts of Hong Kong where nature is abundant.
