Discovering Camels and the Beauty of Nature

How does it use its environment to survive?:

Camels must use their environment to survive and keep their babies healthy. For such big mammals, you would think that they need a lot of food and water to live. But they can actually live up to six months without any food or water. This is possible because they can store thirty gallons of water inside their humps, and that is what keeps them hydrated. Camels do not eat meat. They are herbivores meaning they only eat plants. As another defense mechanism, camels can also eat plants with thorns, unlike most other animals. Camels like to live in hot climates, but they can also survive in cold temperatures because of their thick fur.

What can harm this creature or plant? Are we worried about it?:

The Bactrian camel (the one I did not see because they live in Asia) is critically endangered due to expanded mining and industry. Businesses are taking over these animals' habitat homes, and it is therefore becoming more of a challenge for camels to live in their natural habitat. The Arabian camels are not as endangered as the Bactrian ones, but that does not mean we should not worry for this animal's wellbeing and survival. Given that camels survive better near deserts and prairies, we need to preserve these natural places for their continued use by these amazing animals.
