Ferias de España! The Festivals In Spain!

Introduction:

Every year all over Spain, big traditional parties are thrown to celebrate the locals' culture, most obviously through the enjoyment of good food and wine. I had the amazing opportunity to attend one such gathering (or Feria)in a small town called Tomelloso which lies about three hours' drive to the north of Granada. The huge, festive party being held in Tomelloso was called Feria de Tomelloso. I had a lot of fun, learned a lot, and made a lot of friends! Read on to learn more about the traditional Feria de Tomelloso.

What tradition did I learn about?:

On the first day I arrived in Spain, I went to a small town called Tomelloso. I went there because that is where my aunt’s best friend lives. I had never met this lady before, but she was incredibly kind, and treated me like family. She explained to me about the many foods they commonly eat here like Tortilla de Patata, bocadillos (sandwiches), seafood, and tapas. Then she gave me incredible news! Apparently I came to Spain right in time for the FERIA DE TOMELLOSO, the biggest party/fair/carnival/festival/ gala of the year! I had no idea what this event would entail, but it sounded amazing, and I was determind not to miss it!
