Walking is Good For You!

I love the idea of staying healthy by walking everywhere you need to go, such as to the grocery store, school, and just to hang out with friends.

I was a little nervous the first time using the city buses and the Alsa bus to get to Madrid, because I was in a whole new country. But it was actually super easy and safe to use these transportation systems. I believe that Spain has a better bus system than the United States. From personal experience, the buses in Spain are more reliable, cheap, clean, and convenient! The buses in Granada even have free Wi-Fi!

I was a little nervous to use BlaBla Car at first but I have mostly had a great experience with this new form of transportation. Except one time I felt like I was going to die! The driver was going very fast, I am pretty sure he was driving well above the speed limit. He must have been in a hurry to get to his final destination. He was going so fast on the curvy mountain roads that I became super dizzy and nauseous. I get car sick easily, so this wild ride set me over my limit. I had to close my eyes and open the window all the way for fresh air. With BlaBla Car, I always go with friends. Although this app. should be trustworthy, it is a fairly new app. and I need to always be cautious.

Is this way of getting around connected to the culture and environment, How?:

In Spain, and especially in Granada, people walk everywhere because it is a part of the culture. The best way to explore Granada is by walking. There are many beautiful parks, fountains, stores, and streets that you can only access by foot. A cultural saying is “voy a dar un paseo” which translates as, “I am going for a walk”.
