Bueno Provecho!

That sure was an interesting combination!

Is this food connected to the local environment? How?:

Because Barcelona is located right on the Mediterranean Sea, I would say that the pulpo dish is very much connected with the local environment. In fact, a lot of Catalan foods are grown and produced locally. Some examples include octopus and other seafood, which are caught in the nearby sea. Fruits and vegetables such as tomatoes, grapes, apples and olives also grow nearby. The fact that the food is produced locally causes the people here to feel more connected with their land.

In addition, food also serves to connect people to each other. Here in Spain, food is almost always shared with family and friends. It is not uncommon to sit down to a four-hour meal!
