What are some activities that you enjoy outdoors? For me, I enjoy playing soccer, running and walking around to explore new neighborhoods, for example. These activities wouldn’t be possible without the parks and plazas that Barcelona has designed for its residents.
While I mentioned that Portland, OR is unique in the variety of outdoor environments it offers to its residents, I think Barcelona does a good job of providing spaces that likewise bring people together. One thing I like is that these areas are spread out throughout the city so that, no matter what neighborhood you live in, you are within walking distance of a nice place to play soccer, walk your dog, or just sit outside and enjoy people-watching.
Barcelona makes good use of these public spaces, too! They do this through the use of hosting many events, markets and classes that are open to the public.
