Spanish is the main language in Madrid. There are parts of Spain that have their own official languages. For example, in Barcelona, they speak Catalan; in Galicia, they speak Galician; and in the Basque Country up North, they speak Basque!
The euro are used here.
A bottle of water costs around 1.5 euros. Prices here are similar to those my hometown in the midwest, which is to say cheap when you compare it to a big city in the United States. But Madrid prices are considered more expensive than in other parts of Spain.
There is a brunch restaurant right across the street from my apartment that my roommate and I like to go to. The Eggs Benedict there is great! Not authentic Spanish food, but very tasty brunch food!
My friend recommended the artist Anees to me. I've been listening to his new album as I am on the metro to and from school.
A reality of working with preschool is that I am exposed to lots of little kid germs everyday! This last week hasn't been the most eventful as I have been mostly in bed with the stomach flu, but as I began to feel better, I liked to walk around the parks in Madrid.
