This ties into air pollution because everyone breathes in the smoke of the burning plastic. Water pollution is also a challenge because some larger farmers use fertilizers with chemicals and then those toxins end up in the water that will be sent to the people.
People have been adapting to this environment by working to do their part to reduce waste like how Ghana's Permaculture Institution staff has been doing. A lot of the adaptation skills that Ghanaian people learn are passed down from family and will likely continue to be in the future.
