The weather could not have been more different than in Latvia. The day I landed in Georgia, it was 75 degrees and sunny in Batumi, whereas Latvia got its first snow of the year! It's typically the rainy season in Georgia during the late fall, but I seem to have gotten lucky with sun and warm air.
I saw some bottlenose dolphins in the Black Sea (they live in most saltwater habitats, barring some heavily polluted seas and extremely cold waters). The great tits that I'm studying in Latvia also live in Georgia! And of course, we can't forget about the cows crossing the streets. Georgia boasts impressive megafauna (large animals), including gray wolves, brown bears, leopards and even striped hyenas, but they live far removed from any of the cities I visited.
