I went from Cape Town to Kruger National Park to Johannesburg to Victoria Falls to Zambia! Then, I went back to Johannesburg and back to Cape Town! It was such a long week, and I had so much fun! In total, I traveled 2,984 miles over the course of nine days. I had the time of my life, but I'm sure glad to be back home in Cape Town, now!
Combining my midterm break and the tour of the Western Cape, I estimate I've traveled around 4000 miles since being here. If you include my trip from the United States to Cape Town, the total distance traveled comes to about 12,000 miles!
Victoria Falls is very rural which is starkly different from Cape Town, which is so urban. Victoria Falls made me feel like I was home in Redfield! (Well, if Redfield had baboons that is!) And since VF is a small and safe town, my friends and I were able to walk pretty much anywhere we wanted to go. If we needed to go further afield, Brent picked us up and dropped us off. Brent is a tour guide and taxi driver for a tourism company based in Zimbabwe.
