Polish Traditions

It is traditional to visit several cemeteries on this day and to place and light candles all around the grave sites. It is common for families to have a large gathering on this day, traveling to a relative's house to visit the cemetery as a group.

Yes, this tradition has been celebrated for hundreds of years in Poland, and on this day it is believed that the souls of the people that have passed away are closer to Earth. It is common to bring food, like bread, to leave at the grave site of your family member.
