I did not like the crab salad very much, but most Ukrainians typically love it. My favorite Ukrainian dish is probably borscht (beet soup) with sour cream on top. It is perfect on a cold day, and we have many cold days here!
Crab salad is a salad mixture of peas, crab meat, corn, onion and mayo. It is all just mixed in a bowl and served cold.

A lot of the Ukrainians I've met love the crab salad. When someone cooks it, it is usually for a special occasion like a holiday or birthday. You will always see it on the table especially at Christmas. For the rest of my life, I will always connect this dish with Ukrainian culture and being in a festive mood.
