Vincent Batignole, Comics Artist

Introduction:

France is known for art. In big museums like the Louvre and the Orsay, you can find beautiful paintings and sculptures from many great masters of art. However, France has a lot more art to offer! France also has a long tradition of art in the form of comic books!

The Adventures of TintinThe Smurfs and Asterix are some of the most popular comics around the world, and they were originally in French!

I'd like to introduce Vincent Batignole. He's not only a very, very dear friend of mine, but he's also an up-and-coming comic book artist. I love his work. His comic adventures are usually fantasy, sci-fi or horror. He takes a lot of inspiration from France, America and even Japan. Do you enjoy cartoons or anime? How about comics and manga? Vincent has shelves full of books and DVDs!

Vincent has graciously taken the time to answer a few questions about his life. I think you'll find that day-to-day life in France is very similar to our own.

What is your full name?:

My name is Vincent Batignole.

Where do you live? What is your house like?:

I live in an apartment in Choisy-le-Roi (shwa-ZEE luh-RWA), which is about 10 minutes away from Paris. My place isn't really big, as I live alone, but it's spacious enough for me to cook, work and spend a lot of time with my T.V.
