People sometimes prefer the taste of certain brands of bottled water. A 50 centiliter bottle of water (around 17 fluid ounces) ranges from half a euro in a big supermarket to over 2€ at a train station vending machine.
The best meal I had this week, by far, was at a restaurant called La Petite Cuisine de Sandrine, "Sandrine's little kitchen". I had a quiche (say it like "keesh"). It's a savory egg dish baked in an open pie crust.
I had a quiche vosgienne (say it like "voh-JEN"). This type comes from the Vosges mountain region in the east of France. That's near the border with Germany. The egg is cooked with crème fraîche (a type of sour cream. Say it like "krem fresh."), lardons (bacon-like bits of pork) and shredded Gruyère cheese. The dish had quinoa and Chinese cabbage on the side. Everything was homemade by Sandrine and her assistant.
Have you ever tried something like this before?
The music of French singer Amir has been stuck in my head all week. Amir Haddad is a French-Israeli singer. He placed third on the French show The Voice in 2014. I heard about him in 2016 when he participated in the Eurovision Song Contest, this huge T.V. show that brings singers from all across Europe to compete. That year, the contest was held in Stockholm, Sweden.
Here are some of his songs:
