They do seem to live a good life before they are used for food, luckily, and get to roam some of the most beautiful land I have ever seen. Spain also has stricter laws on how animals are treated so it is safe to say these cows are in good hands. The farmers do things ethically, and the cows are here to stay for a very long time I imagine.
