We all broke out of our shells and got to know each other through a name game, by making up stories and through many other fun and active games and activities! I cannot wait to meet with the students again next week.
This week I read the Doctor Seuss book Green Eggs and Ham in Mongolian! I also continued reading a history book I brought to Mongolia; it is called The Silk Roads and tells the the story of how some countries, including Mongolia, helped create the world as it is today through the great trade routes that used to run between Europe and Asia.
This week I played some fun English board games with my students! We had to discuss favorites and practice using different verb tenses and descriptions in English. I also worked out several times, and my legs are still so sore!
This week I got to attend a presentation about Mongolian hip hop. It was so interesting to learn about how Mongolians have created their own type of hip hop music. Some artists even use traditional Mongolian instruments in their songs! This presentation gave me a great opportunity to learn more about an American music style I love listening to, and how that style is different in Mongolia.
