The most fun activity was watching the horsemen demonstrate how they lasso their horses. As we stood in the middle of the grassy steppe that seemed to stretch forever, we watched herds of horses gallop as men tried to chase them and catch them with ropes.
I read some books about Chinggis Khan. Here is a fun fact: He was born in Khentii province! 900 years ago, Chinggis was a boy riding around in the grass of Khentii. It was cool to learn more about him in the actual place he was raised.
I didn't play any games myself, but I watched dogs race each other. I also watched a lot of traditional dancers, dancing in a way that told the story of how Chinggis Khan and his soldiers united the various tribes across Mongolia.
On Thursday the 8th and Friday the 9th there is a national vacation, so we get a break from work and school. Hooray! Another fun fact: Did you know the expression "hooray" originated in Mongolia?
