In his town, there is an active volcano. It is one of the most active volcanoes in South America! The town is called Pucón and the name of the volcano is Villarrica. That was the coolest thing I saw in nature because I was able to hike up close to the base, and I saw ash from the volcanic activity that "surprised" the town only last week!
The nature news I want to share is about the volcano, Villarrica. The last time it erupted was in 2015—so not so long ago. There are lots of volcanoes in Chile and in South America. A rumble from this volcano caused the city to go into an Orange Alert. That means that some parks have closed, and they are making sure everyone stays safe. If it becomes a Red Alert, that means the volcano is erupting. It is possible that the volcano could erupt soon, so watch the news and check for updates! I have left Pucón, so I am safe.
