A Day in Mallorca, Without Leaving Barcelona

Introduction:

Since I live in student apartments, almost everybody that lives here is from somewhere else. We may all live in Barcelona, but many of us are exchange students from a different country (like me!), or from a different Spanish city.

I interviewed my good friend, Catalina (or Cata), who is from Mallorca. Mallorca is a beautiful Spanish island in the Mediterranean Sea. Cata has been in Barcelona for only two months, just like me!

Our interview was in Spanish, but I translated it into English. Also, from here on out, everything in this article is in Catalina's words.

What is your full name?:

Catalina Mascaró Català

(In Spain, people have two last names, like Cata. Català is her second last name, but by coincidence it is also the name of the language that Catalina speaks!)

Where do you live? What is your house like?:

I am from Vila Franca de Bonany, Mallorca. This is a small pueblo, or town with 3,700 people right in the middle of Mallorca. Mallorca is a Spanish island in the Mediterranean Sea.

My town feels like family. Even though 3,700 people feels like a lot, it actually isn't. You walk around the town and know everybody!

Vila Franca de Bonany is very beautiful to me because I like nature.
