The Barcelona public transportation is the best I have ever seen. Europe, in general, is known for being easy to travel around. Public transportation is when you share transportation, like a train or bus, with other people in your city. A perfect example for New York is the subway- there is also a subway here, in Barcelona!
Public transportation, here, is so good: there are a ton of ways to get around. I have a list below, so that you can see the different methods that people, here, can choose from. There are actually more methods of transportation available in Barcelona--the ones I listed below are only the ones that I have used!
- Funicular: The funicular is like a train, except it takes you up and down steep mountains. I used the funicular to get to one of the highest points in Barcelona, which is a fortress (military stronghold) on a mountain.
- Ferrocarril: The ferrocarril, or ferro is basically a train. I actually do not know what the difference is between the two. I use the ferro every time I want to go down to the city of Barcelona (I live up in the mountains) or to go grocery shopping. This is my main method of transportation, aside from walking.
