On my walk to university every morning, I spend about 7 minutes walking alongside a "wall of bees." What this means for me, is that I have busy, busy bees buzzing all around my face for a while. That sure took some getting used to, but now I have learned to be very grateful for these insects!
The bees here can be like the small bees that you are used to in the USA. There are also a lot of big and fuzzy meatball sized bees. (Seriously!) My main question there is how are these hefty insects held up by their tiny wings. These bees can have yellow fuzzy fur, and some even look orange to me. Also, they have a lot of black stripes. For some reason, zebras and bees have those same black stripes in common!
One time, I saw a bee so, so big that I was surprised he was even real. He was actually quite cute.
At first I was very scared when I saw all those bees flying around me! My fear was that they would sting me, since there were so many. The buzzing was quite loud. However, after all of the times I have walked alongside them, these bees almost don't even notice me!
Now I am very grateful every time I see these bees. If you enjoy eating delicious fruits, you can thank bees for that. This means fruits like blueberries, strawberries, bananas, avocados, among many others.
