Since leaving Strasbourg on the Amadeus Brilliant, we have traveled about 269 kilometers or about 167 miles on the Rhine River.
We first drove from New York, NY to Greenfield, MA, which is about 180 miles. Then, we drove from Greenfield, MA to Boston, MA, which is about 103 miles. The flight took us another 3,662 miles from Boston, MA to Frankfurt, Germany. That's about 3,945 miles! In addition to the 167 miles we have traveled on the river so far, we have traveled 4,112 miles and counting.
We have gotten around mostly by riverboat. Some of the places we have visited are farther inland, so we have taken buses not too different from the ones you take for field trips. We also like to walk, so we have used our feet a lot. I have walked a lot of miles on this trip!
We have visited a lot of interesting places. Overall, I have really loved exploring how people live and work along the Rhine River, from using its fertile soil to grow crops to enjoying the natural beauty of the world along the Rhineland. Having lived in New York for almost 10 years, it's nice to enjoy the countryside!
