Niños in Spain

Students leave school to eat with their families which is another example of their strong sense of community. I think it is funny that Jose said that a hamburger was his favorite food because it is not common to eat cheeseburgers in Granada, Spain.

What language do you speak at school? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

“I speak Spanish at school but we are learning to speak English”.

Can you remember how to say hello in Spanish??

What are some common kids' names at your school?:

“Jose, Celia, Antonio, Cristobal, Javier, Pedro”.

It is common for boys to have the same name as their father; therefore, many names are repeated and kept in the tradition of their family.

What subjects do you study in school, and which one is your favorite?:

“My favorite class is gym”.

I think that in the United States this could also be a typical answer from a seven year old.

What is your homework like?:

“I have a lot of homework, and I enjoy doing it”.

Jose said that he has a lot of homework which is actually nowhere near the amount of homework he would receive if he were in the United States. Jose comments that he rarely has homework, which feels great to him! "I am less stressed in my classes and participate way more," he says.

What do you like to do after school? Do you have a favorite sport or game?:

“I like to go to my English class and play sports”. – Jose

“I like to go to dance class”. – Daniela

There are many after-school activities for students to participate in such as English classes, sports, dance class and art class.
