Environmental Conservation in South Africa

Introduction:

Some environmental issues that affect Southern Africa are resource depletion, water and air pollution, land degradation, solid waste pollution and deforestation. South Africa accounts for 50% of the pollution of all of Africa. There are several efforts to rejuvenate the environmental state, but there is still work to be done.

What makes this environment special or different?:

South Africa is known for its beautiful beaches, mountains and landmarks, making it a popular tourist destination. It has a diverse environment that allows for tourists and locals to take part in safaris, scuba diving, skydiving and hiking.

What parts of this environment help people to live here?:

The tourism industry is directly linked to the environment, making it crucial to protect.

What challenges do people face living in this environment?:

The dense smoke caused by the frequent fires on Table Mountain and surrounding areas quickly cover the sky around Table Mountain, resulting in a significant decrease in visibility. People in neighboring areas can also smell a strong smell of soot. Berg winds, which are hot, dry winds blowing from the mountains to the coast, combined with the dry grasslands are a great recipe for fires.
