To also practice my French, I often tune into French artists like Dadju, Aya Nakamura, Luidji and others. Right now, my favorite French songs are "Cette route-là" by Noé Preszow and "Position" by Franglish. You should definitely give them a listen! The blend of rhythm and lyrics makes them so enjoyable and fun to follow.
This week, I got to visit Zurich, another city and canton in Switzerland. It was snowy and cold, but the Christmas markets made the experience magical and enchanting. The festive atmosphere, with sparkling lights and the scent of seasonal treats in the air, was truly enjoyable. As soon as I arrived, I was greeted by a Christmas market right at the station. We spent most of the day exploring and walking up to the University of Zurich, where we were rewarded with stunning views of the city and the surrounding mountains. Afterwards, we ate and ate some more at different Christmas markets before reality kicked in—things in Switzerland are so expensive, we decided we’d need to go thrifting for the rest of the trip!
In general, hiking and taking the gondola to see breathtaking views remain my favorite activities in Switzerland. The scenery here is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. Being able to look out over the Swiss Alps or walk through peaceful nature is truly amazing. Whether I’m hiking on a mountain trail or riding the gondola up to a peak, the beauty of nature here never ceases to amaze me. It’s the perfect way to calm down and relax amidst the busyness of academics.
