In every city, there are areas reserved just for animals. It's not just in one designated place per city like a zoo but in many parks filled with small lakes, giant trees and a spread of thriving green grass.
Animal and natural history museums are also very common in Ecuador. It helps people remain aware of the other forms of life roaming around their lands. Even with all of the parks for turtles, llamas and other animals, one of the most famous is the Iguana Park. Since the iguanas are allowed to roam freely without cages, it is a visitor favorite. Let’s learn a little more about these long-tailed creatures.
Iguanas can come in many colors but are mainly seen with a bright green or dull green. Their bodies are like snakes but dry with a extra strength. They also have extra skin that coats their necks called a "jowl". This part of the body can be really heavy and droopy in some but, barely seen on others. Whether they are light red, blue or green, you can always spot their long body with spiky skin going down their back and a long tail with black stripes.
