This week I listened to popular Azerbaijani music which our guide played in the car as we explored different areas around Azerbaijan.
The most fun activity this week was going to the mud volcanos in the mountains of Azerbaijan. I wrote about this last week, but they were so cool that I have to mention them again, here! The land we are on is moving, and this movement causes pressure that pushes this liquid mud to the surface, making it erupt like a volcano. The mud is cold and very fun to play with. Plus, they say it is good for our skin to have mud on it!
This week I finally began to read the Harry Potter series. I have never read them before, but I have always wanted to! Along with this fun reading, I also read many articles and academic journals to prepare me for the essays I have to write about the countries I visit.
I did not play any games or sports this week. I just enjoyed morning runs along the Caspian Sea in Baku and then runs through the mountain town of Shaki.
I have less than one month before my program in Tbilisi ends, and then I will be studying in the city of Batumi, Georgia.
