Kids Lives

Introduction:

Have you ever wondered what it is like for a young person to live in India? This week, I met two kids named Vedant and Aakanksha and asked them about their daily lives in India. I hope you enjoy learning a little about them and their lives!

What do you eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner?:

Breakfast: Dosa, IdliIdli is like a rice cake that you dip in curry.

Lunch: Chapati, Salad, Rice, Baji. (I had never heard of Baji, but apparently it is a rice dish that comes from Nepal)

Dinner: Rice, Chapati, Roti, Curry.

What is your house like?:

They described their house as a bungalow with two floors. I did not know what they meant by bungalow, so I searched on the internet and discovered that a bungalow is a normal house.

What chores do you have at home?:

Vedant and Aakansha told me that they are both responsible for taking care of their grandparents at home.

What jobs do your parents have?:

Their dad is an engineer, and their mom stays at home to take care of them.

What time does school start, and what time do you go home?:

Vedanta and Akansha start school at 12 PM and go home from school at 5:30 PM. I was surprised that they go home so early, but they told me that this works really well for their family!
