The Streets of India

If the driver knows where you are trying to go, he will tell you how much money he wants for the ride. If you think he is charging you too much, you can always ask for a lower price. Sometimes the driver will not lower the amount to a fair price. No problem! There is always another rickshaw driver around the corner. It is better to find a driver who treats you fairly instead of paying too much.

Once you are inside a rickshaw, it is important to hold on tight so that you do not fall out. Rickshaws do not have any doors and they are much smaller than cars. This means that they can move very quickly through the crowded traffic on the streets.

Sometimes rickshaw rides can get bumpy because of how fast they move, but that just makes the ride more exciting. Here is a video of me taking a ride in a rickshaw. Make sure to count all the rickshaws you see! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwOR5bJD4aI

Even though a rickshaw ride can get a little bumpy, I think it is much better than walking. I will definitely be taking more rickshaw rides in the future!

Is this way of getting around connected to the culture and environment, How?:

Bengaluru is a very busy city with lots of traffic. Sometimes this means that there are traffic jams. Rickshaws are smaller than cars, but can hold just as many people. Sometimes a rickshaw can even hold more people than a car (if you really squeeze)! Smaller vehicles like rickshaws help to cause fewer traffic jams. If everyone in the city rode in a car, there would never be any space on the streets to move!
