Meeting Helena Bustos

My bed is low and made of wooden pallets. Opposite the bed, I have a tall mirror and LED lights with some pictures."

Helena's flat is very modern and comfortable, and I love it when her family invites me over to spend time with them!

What chores do you have at home?:

"I make my bed every morning, and when I arrive home from school, I walk my dog. Right now I´m walking someone else's dog as a job. When I arrive home from walking the dogs, I tidy up my room if it´s messy. Then I have lunch, and I take the stuff on the table to the kitchen, and if I have time, I fill the dishwasher."

Helena is very responsible, and she always works hard!

What jobs do your parents have?:

"My mom works in the town hall, and she is the boss of the section of the taxes. My dad's an engineer. He designs roads and parks."

I met Helena's mom, Mónica, at the town hall when I first arrived in Spain. I needed help with some of my travel paperwork, and Mónica was so kind and helped me. She even stayed after work to help me. She is a very selfless person, and I am thankful for her. If I hadn't met Mónica at the town hall where she works, I never would have met Helena. I am very grateful that I met them.

What time does school start, and what time do you go home?:

"My school starts at 8:30 a.m., but I have to be there at 8:15 a.m. I finish school at 2:20 p.m., but I don´t get home until 2:45 p.m."

What time does your school start and finish? Is it similar to Helena's schedule?

How do you get to school? Are you allowed to go to school by yourself?:

"I walk to school. I usually pick up my friend at her house at 8:00 a.m.
