It was quite nice and warm at the beginning of this week, but by Friday it was very cold! The air smelled like snow, but so far it has not snowed in Ulaanbaatar. Although it is already only one degree (Fahrenheit), I know that the weather is only going to get colder.
This week I saw many cute dogs and lots of horses. It is common for nomadic Mongolian families to have many dogs.
I went horseback riding on Sunday and we rode to the top of a mountain! My favorite part was crossing a half-frozen river on horseback.
Although Mongolia is very very cold, it is one of the sunniest countries in the world! Even when it is one degree outside, the sun is often shining.
