In all honestly, pigeons scare me because I feel like they are out to get me most of the time. They are all over the city and by my apartment, so it is a little hard to avoid them. However as time has gone by, I have gotten used to seeing them everywhere.
For the most part, the pigeons here look like the ones back in California! They are small, with short necks, and usually dark grey with shades of green and purple around the neck area. If I am lucky, I will see one that is brown and white, but those are hard to come by.
Like I mentioned before, I am scared of pigeons so I get a little nervous every time I see one. They fly really low, so I feel like one day, they are just going to land on my shoulder! (I might cry if that happens!). However, most people throughout the city do not mind them and usually feed them pieces of bread. What animals are you afraid of? Are you afraid of pigeons too?
Home for a lot of pigeons is usually rocky cliffs or cliffs by the ocean. Since the city does not have any cliffs, the city buildings or window ledges are the closest thing that reminds them of home.
