The official language of Morocco is Arabic. Other common languages include French, English and Spanish in certain regions.
While some restaurants and places accept euros, the main currency is the United Arab Emirates dirham. One dirham equals approximately 0.27 U.S. dollars.
There are two main sizes for water bottles, a smaller regular size, and a bigger-sized liter bottle. At one of the hotels, we stayed at, the bigger-sized water bottle cost 25 dirhams. However, if bought from one of the local restaurants, the common price for a smaller water bottle is five dirhams, versus ten dirhams for a bigger water bottle.
This week I got the chance to try various traditional Moroccan dishes. For instance, I tried various Moroccan desserts. I also tried tajine, which consisted of various meats such as lamb, chicken, and vegetables and couscous, a special form of rice made out of crushed wheat. My favorite dish, however, came from a chef in the school that we were visiting.
