Georgian is the national language of Georgia and is what everyone, here, speaks, primarily. Georgian is not similar to any other language. Due to the country's mountainous landscape, the people who settled here were able to maintain their independence and protect their culture for a very long time. People, here, who are older than 30 years of age usually know Russian as well as Georgian because of the years when the Soviet Union ruled Georgia; but people younger than 30 have learned, almost exclusively, English.
